Privacy Policy for FabulAI

FabulAI does not require an account. This policy explains what information the app and website process, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.

1. Information we process

Content you provide

When you create a story, continue a story, request a translation, or scan text, we process the text, choices, language settings, learning level, and other instructions needed to provide that feature. A scanned image is transmitted for text extraction; the image itself is not saved in the story database.

Generated stories, translations, vocabulary data, and story settings are stored on our server so the story can be completed and retrieved. Generated stories may be publicly accessible on the FabulAI website. Do not include personal, confidential, or sensitive information in prompts, choices, or scanned content.

Vocabulary saved in the mobile app, reading progress, and learning-time records are stored locally on your device unless a feature needs to send related story content to our server.

Usage and device information

We use Umami Analytics on the website and in the app to understand usage and improve the product. This may include pages or screens viewed, feature events such as completing onboarding or a story, interface locale, target-language code, learning level, story mode and length, platform, screen size, browser or app user-agent information, and the IP address received by the analytics server. We do not send prompts, story text, translated words, or story identifiers in analytics events.

Umami does not use advertising cookies and FabulAI does not use this information for cross-app or cross-site advertising.

Purchases

RevenueCat creates a random anonymous app user ID and, together with Apple or Google, processes subscription and purchase information needed to provide premium access. We do not receive your full payment-card details.

2. How we use information

We use information to generate, translate, narrate, store, and continue stories; extract text from images; provide vocabulary practice; operate subscriptions; prevent abuse; diagnose failures; measure activation and product performance; and improve FabulAI.

3. Service providers

FabulAI uses service providers that process information on our behalf, including Google Gemini and OpenAI for AI features, Umami for analytics, RevenueCat for subscription management, and Apple or Google for app distribution and payments. Their processing is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

4. Sharing, sale, and tracking

We do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs or track you across other companies' apps and websites for advertising. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the service and its users, or to service providers acting under our instructions.

5. Retention and deletion

Generated story records are retained while needed to provide and maintain the service, unless they are removed earlier. Local app data remains on your device until you delete it in the app or remove the app. Analytics and purchase providers retain data according to their configured retention periods and policies.

Because FabulAI has no user accounts, we may need a story identifier or other technical details to locate a server record. You can request deletion through our contact page.

6. Security and international processing

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Our providers may process information in countries other than your own, subject to applicable safeguards.

7. Children

FabulAI is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum digital-consent age in their country, without involvement of a parent or guardian. Please contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

8. Your choices and rights

You can avoid optional custom prompts and scans, remove local data by deleting it in the app or uninstalling the app, and contact us to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable. Rights vary by location.

9. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the product or legal requirements change. The effective date above shows the latest revision.
